Hanley Investment Group has acquired the retail investment sales division of Fresno-based Visintainer Group, a move that extends the firm's footprint into the Central Valley and adds a team with deep local market knowledge.
The acquisition brings the Visintainer retail sales team under the Hanley banner, giving the firm a dedicated presence in a region that has drawn growing interest from investors seeking stable returns outside California's larger coastal markets. Fresno and the surrounding Central Valley have seen steady demand for neighborhood shopping centers, grocery-anchored properties, and other necessity-based retail assets.
For Hanley, the deal represents a chance to capture transactions that might otherwise go to regional brokerages with established local relationships. The firm has built its reputation on the sale of retail properties across the Western United States, and adding a Fresno office positions it to compete for listings throughout the San Joaquin Valley.
The Visintainer Group has long been active in Fresno-area retail brokerage, and its team's familiarity with local landlords, tenants, and property values is expected to ease the transition. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
The acquisition comes as retail investment activity shows signs of recovery after a slow stretch marked by higher borrowing costs. Grocery-anchored and service-oriented centers have remained in favor with buyers, particularly in markets where construction of new retail space has been limited. Hanley's expanded presence in the Central Valley gives it access to a pipeline of properties in one of California's faster-growing population centers.
