VENTURA COUNTY, Calif. - A 34 year old Oxnard resident has been found guilty of filing a false or forged document as part of a real estate fraud scheme, according to court records released this week. Khambray Antoine Holloway was convicted following a trial that examined his role in submitting falsified paperwork connected to a property transaction.
Prosecutors argued that Holloway knowingly created and submitted documents designed to deceive both property owners and county officials. The forged records were intended to influence the outcome of a real estate matter, though authorities did not specify the exact property involved or the total financial loss tied to the case.
Investigators from the district attorney's office handled the inquiry after red flags were raised during a routine review of recorded documents. That review uncovered inconsistencies that eventually pointed to Holloway.
Real estate fraud remains a persistent problem across Ventura County, where rising property values have created opportunities for criminals to target homeowners and buyers. Officials have urged residents to verify any unexpected filings connected to their properties and to report suspicious activity to local authorities.
Holloway now faces sentencing at a later date. He could receive jail time, fines, or both, depending on the judge's decision. Attorneys representing him have not issued a public statement following the verdict.
