Venn has acquired multifamily AI company Zuma for $50 million. The deal brings specialized leasing technology and engineering talent into Venn's real estate platform. Zuma, which had backing from Andreessen Horowitz, built automation tools for apartment leasing teams. Its software handles tasks like lead follow-up, scheduling, and resident communication.
The acquisition fits Venn's push to expand its artificial intelligence offerings for property managers. Venn already provides a platform that connects various real estate operations, from accounting to maintenance. Adding Zuma's leasing focus fills a gap in the tenant journey. The company said the engineering team behind Zuma will join Venn and continue developing AI products.
Zuma raised money from a16z and other investors before the sale. The $50 million price reflects growing interest in applying AI to property management, where labor costs remain high and response times matter. Leasing agents often juggle dozens of inquiries per day. Zuma's tools aimed to reduce that load by automating repetitive messages and tracking.
Venn plans to integrate Zuma's technology into its existing system over the coming months. Customers can expect faster leasing workflows and better data on prospect behavior. The deal also signals more consolidation in real estate software, as larger platforms buy niche AI startups to stay competitive. Neither company disclosed retention terms for Zuma's staff.
