A federal judge in Manhattan has sentenced Tal, Oren, and Alon Alexander to 30 years in prison each for sex trafficking and related crimes. The sentencing on Tuesday follows their conviction in March on all 10 federal counts they faced after a five-week trial.
Judge Valerie Caproni also imposed 10 years of supervised probation, $4.75 million in fines, and restitution for some victims. Prosecutors had sought life sentences, while defense attorneys argued for the 15-year mandatory minimum.
The brothers have been held at MDC Brooklyn since their December 2024 arrests. Eleven women testified during the trial about being drugged and sexually assaulted. Prosecutors said more than 70 women came forward to investigators with accounts of attacks spanning years.
The case drew attention to the brothers' prominent status in luxury real estate circles in New York and Miami. They built careers selling high-end properties before the allegations surfaced publicly in 2024.
The brothers still face about two dozen civil lawsuits and a possible state trial in Miami. They also have pursued a long-shot presidential pardon effort with attorney Alan Dershowitz, which adds stress for victims and their families.
The 30-year sentences mean the brothers will serve a substantial portion of their remaining lives behind bars, bringing some measure of closure to the women who testified against them.
