Sean 'Diddy' Combs Sells $55M Miami Mansion He Used as Bail Collateral in Sex Trafficking Case

Sean "Diddy" Combs has sold his waterfront Miami mansion for $55 million, the same property he used as collateral to secure his $50 million bail in a federal sex trafficking case. The sale closes a chapter on a home that became one of the most scrutinized real estate listings in the country after Combs pledged it to a judge in late 2023.

The sprawling Star Island estate, which Combs purchased for $40 million in 2021, hit the market quietly earlier this year. Real estate records show the buyer is a limited liability company, and the deal closed in recent days. The sale price matches the original asking price, a rare outcome in a slow luxury market.

Combs had offered the mansion as a bond guarantee after his arrest on charges including sex trafficking, racketeering, and transportation for prostitution. Federal prosecutors argued the property was a legitimate asset to secure his release, but they also noted that Combs had attempted to flee to his yacht in the Bahamas shortly before his arrest. The judge ultimately accepted the mansion as collateral, along with a $10 million cash bond from Combs' mother.

The sale now removes a major piece of the bail package. Legal experts say the cash from the sale will likely go toward legal fees, which have already run into the millions. Combs remains under house arrest in a separate New York property, awaiting trial scheduled for May 2025.

The Miami home, with six bedrooms, a private dock, and a pool overlooking Biscayne Bay, had been a centerpiece of Combs' real estate portfolio. Neighbors reported increased security and media presence around the property after the charges became public. The new owners are expected to take possession within 30 days, and the property will no longer serve as a financial anchor in one of the most high-profile criminal cases in the music industry.
